The Hotel Charlevoix, one of Detroit's oldest surviving hotels, was demolished Sunday morning.

The hotel was built in 1905 and was intended to be an office building. Instead, it was a hotel first... bu,t only for about 10 years.
It then became an apartment building before being turned into a commercial building for various companies in the 1920s.
The building closed in the late 1980s. It was slated to be demolished after parts of the building started falling down.
