DALLAS -

The Texas Department of Public Safety has added 42-year-old Larry Valdez to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list and is offering up to $10,000 for his capture.

Valdez has been on the run since 2005.

He has a violent criminal past that includes convictions for sexually assaulting a 2-year-old girl and burglarizing vehicles.

He's now wanted on charges for a parole violation, family violence assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and striking a highway fixture.

DPS said in Aug. 2006 he brutally beat a woman and left her for dead on the side of the road. She survived, but is permanently disfigured.

Valdez may be hiding out with relatives in the Dallas area.

He is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 185 pounds. He has tattoos of a heart, ribbon and arrow on the left side of his chest.

He has previously been employed as an iron worker.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-252-TIPS. Anonymous tips are welcome.
