Dallas Cowboys player Josh Brent was booked into Dallas County jail Thursday morning after failing another drug test.
Brent tested positive for marijuana on June 19 according to court notification documents. The positive test was confirmed on Tuesday, June 25.
Brent was booked into Dallas County jail around 10 a.m. Thursday due to the positive test.
Earlier this month, prosecutors said Brent failed a urine test he had to take in May to meet the requirements of his $100,000 bond. The substance he tested positive for was marijuana.
In a separate hearing in May, Brent was in court after the SCRAM device he is required to wear was set off by possible use of alcohol. But defense attorneys argued anything could have set off the device, including just being in the presence of alcohol or even hand sanitizer.
Ultimately the judge ordered an additional monitoring device to be worn by Brent and he avoided jail time.
Brent, 25, faces trial later this year for the death of teammate Jerry Brown, Jr. in a December automobile wreck.
Authorities believe Brent had been drinking and driving when he crashed his car, killing his friend and teammate. His blood alcohol levels were more than twice the legal limit.
