Man and woman murdered in Grand Prairie

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -

A man murdered his ex-wife and her boyfriend in Grand Prairie, before turning the gun on himself.

Jenea James and her boyfriend were found dead in their home in the 4200 block of Hill Top Lane around 2:15AM Sunday.

Police say her ex-husband, 39-year-old Dashun Atkins, killed them both.

Officers later found Atkins body inside his apartment.

Saturday morning, James contacted police because Atkins wouldn't stop calling her.

James called police again at 11 p.m. and told them Atkins was still harassing her by phone, and had started to drive past her house.

Detectives called Atkins, and told him to stop contacting James.

An hour later, one of his relatives called police to say he was upset and they were worried.

Detectives went to Atkins apartment, and say he seemed perfectly fine.

Two hours later, officers found James dead on her neighbor's front lawn, and her boyfriend dead inside.

Atkins and James had two children, who were inside the house at the time.

It's not clear whether they witnessed the shootings.
