Granbury officer injured in shooting released from hospital

Posted: Updated:

A police officer who survived a shootout with an accused rapist was released from the hospital on Monday.

Granbury police officer Chad Davis was released from Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth around 5 p.m.

"It's been a really tough weekend," Granbury Police Chief Mitch Galvan said. " It will take a toll for a while."

According to Galvan, Davis wants to attend Tuesday's funeral for slain deputy Lance McLean. But Davis' attendance will depend on how Davis feels.

Davis has a serious shoulder wound with a large amount of swelling that still remains. Davis also has
bullet fragments that hit his knee.

Ricky Don McComas, 49, shot the Hood County Sheriff's deputy dead and wounded Davis in a Friday morning shooting.
