The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office has identified the body of the girl found dead on a Saginaw road as 6-year-old Alanna Gallagher.
The medical examiner's website listed the cause of death for the young girl as "pending."
Several children found her body Monday night on Roundrock Drive and Cindy Lane. Witnesses said her body was wrapped in a tarp, her legs and feet were bound and had a plastic bag over her head. She was wearing only purple underwear.
Katie Whiddon said her 14-year-old son found the tarp first. He opened it, thinking it was trash, and came back home to tell her.
"He was just, 'Mom, it's a baby girl. It's a girl.' And I'm like, it's no laughing joke. And he said, 'Mom it's really a girl. I wouldn't joke about that,'" Whiddon said.
Federal investigators searched Alanna's home in the 600 block of Babbling Brook Drive on Tuesday. Officials also searched two vehicles.
An evidence sheet left in public view in a car parked on the street lists items confiscated including a tarp, plastic bag, different types of tape and identification cards.
The girl lived less than two miles from where her body was found, with her mother and two men who neighbors said were her fathers. One man her biological father and the other shares the same last name.
The girl's aunt said although their situation may have seemed unorthodox, it had nothing to do with Alanna's murder.
"It doesn't mean that they are vicious people and that they didn't love their children or each other any more than what we do," Teresa McDaniel said.
Police questioned her parents, who reported her missing Monday night.
Officer Damon Ing of the Saginaw Police Department said the family "is not suspected," but police added no one has been ruled out of the investigation.
"We do appreciate the community's support and any help they could provide the police," Miles McDaniel, Alanna's biological father, said.
Investigators are still looking for a red truck witnesses reported seeing near the crime scene. It has green paint splattered on the passenger side quarter panel.
Police encourage anyone with information about the case to call 682-888-3682.
