Man faces capitol murder charges in Ft. Worth shooting that killed four

Posted: Updated:

A 23-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for a shooting that left three people and an unborn child dead in an East Fort Worth neighborhood.

Amos Wells was arrested on capital murder charges and is being held on $2 million bond. Police said the investigation is still ongoing, but they want to charge Wells for all four deaths.

Officers were dispatched to a home in the 2900 block of Pate Drive in east Fort Worth on Monday evening.

Inside they found a Annette Reed, 39, Chanice Reed, 21, and Eddie McCuin, 10, all with gunshot wounds. They were taken to area hospitals where they were pronounced dead.

The 21-year-old victim was between 32 and 34 weeks pregnant with Wells' unborn child, who did not survive.

Police say there was some type of argument shortly after Wells showed up at the Reed house on Monday.

Emotions escalated quickly at the crime scene Monday night when upset family members and friends ran through crime scene tape to try to learn more about the shootings.

Police wrestled two of the upset people to the ground and detained them briefly, but they were not formally arrested.
