Bike sharing, pregnancy costs and infertility, and Jay-Z's new song: Chat Room

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

On Tuesday's Chat Room, Sun-Times Splash Editor Susanna Negovan joined GDC anchor Anna Davlantes to discuss Chicago's new bike share program that kicked off over the weekend.

Chicagoans and tourists took 4,000 bike trips over the weekend. There are now several "Divvy" bike ports across the city. For $7 you can rent a bike for a half hour and take it wherever you want to go.

The city says more than 1,700 people are using the yearly membership option.

But some people still aren't completely sure how it works and further, there are complaints that the docking stations are often full and people can't drop off their bikes.

Having a baby soon? Be prepared to cough up a hefty chunk of change. According to the New York Times, the cost of deliveries in the U.S. has tripled since 1996. Many of the price increases come from the amount of ultrasounds and other prenatal tests that are being done.

The average total price charged for pregnancy and newborn care is about $30,000 for a vaginal delivery and $50,000 for a C-section. Women with insurance pay out of pocket an average of $3,400.

The study found that although maternity care costs less in other countries.....their citizens don't have less access to care.

Jay-Z is revealing more and more of himself in the Samsung ads for his new surprise album "Magna Carta Holy Grail." In fact, he's breaking down what it's like to be a dad in the promo for the song, "Jay-Z Blue."

The happy dad describes daughter Blue Ivy Carter as "something that we both created" and says he and Beyonce "still marvel at her."

Dr. Angela Beltsos from the Fertility Centers of Illinois joined the panel to discuss an issue that can affect thousands of couples, but many don't know much about it: infertility. One of her patients Jenna Kutska also joined to discuss her struggle to get pregnant.
