Preparations are under way for one of Atlanta's favorite summer traditions - Legendary Fourth of July at Lenox Square -- and, Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken is getting a rare sneak peek behind the scenes.

For more than half a century, Lenox Square has celebrated stars and stripes in grand tradition with activities for the entire family. Presented by The Atlantan, this year's activities will include musical entertainment, food concessions and the largest fireworks display in the Southeast.

Everyone is invited to experience Atlanta's patriotic celebration as Lenox Square lights up the sky on the Fourth of July!

WHAT:           Legendary 4th of July at Lenox Square

WHEN:           Thursday, July 4, 2013

Lenox Square shops and restaurants are open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Activities open for a full-day of family fun at 10 a.m.
Musical entertainment begins at 6 p.m.

6 p.m. - Jimmy Buffet tribute band Sons of Sailors opens the show

7 p.m. - Crowned winner of Lenox Square's new talent search, 'Atlanta's Next Legend' performs

7:30 p.m. - Show headliners, Party on the Moon, Atlanta's favorite party band, takes the stage

Fireworks scheduled to begin at approximately 9:40 p.m.

    A grand jury ruled Tuesday that a Euharlee police officer was not authorized in a recent shooting that took the life of a 17-year-old boy. The officer claimed the teen had a gun, but the boy’s family said it was a video game controller. Christopher Roupe was shot and killed on February 14. The Bartow County Grand Jury found that Euharlee Police Officer Beth Gatney was not authorized to use deadly force.
