Some Dallas businesses started the day without running water.
A water line broke early Wednesday on Skillman Avenue and Royal Lane on the city's northeast side.
Water shot more than 30 feet into the air.
It took workers about a half an hour to close the valve.
City officials said breaks are not uncommon during the summer months because of the drought and aging infrastructure.
