ATLANTA -

Thursday's steady downpour could dampen the spirits of the nearly 60,000 men and women who turned out for an exciting Peachtree Road Race. Among them, twin brothers Joe and Henry Ostaszewski.

They're running in the Men's Elite Division and like many running in the Road Race, they have an incredible story about their personal journey to this year's starting line.

The singing of the Star-Spangled Banner heralded the beginning of the men's race. Much like this song, the brothers' story fills their hearts with pride and victory.

At age 44, these brothers from Cumming, Georgia, are proud to announce they've lost a combined weight of 280 pounds in the six months leading up the Road Race.

Joe said, "You know, I just lost 147 pounds and I was on the show ("The Biggest Loser") where we were getting drilled every day hard; and my identical twin brother, seven minutes older than me, actually did it at home. So, at the same time when I was getting, you know, hit hard every day, Henry's at home doing it with, you know, two children."

A grand jury ruled Tuesday that a Euharlee police officer was not authorized in a recent shooting that took the life of a 17-year-old boy. The officer claimed the teen had a gun, but the boy’s family said it was a video game controller. Christopher Roupe was shot and killed on February 14. The Bartow County Grand Jury found that Euharlee Police Officer Beth Gatney was not authorized to use deadly force.
