Name Houston's space shuttle

Posted: Updated:

What name would you give the space shuttle that's on its way to Houston?

A high-fidelity shuttle replica was built as part of a $12 million attraction for the visitor center at NASA's Johnson Space Center. It will sit atop a massive 747 shuttle carrier aircraft and allow guests to experience the 30-year space shuttle program.

But it needs a name.

Texas residents are being asked to submit a name that symbolizes the spirit of Texas and its unique independence, optimism and can-do attitude.

The contest runs through Labor Day.

A winner will be announced in mid-September.

The attraction is scheduled to open in 2015.
