TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A motorist is dead in Tucson after his pickup truck collided with a utility pole.

Tucson police identified the victim as 46-year-old Ken Josephson.

Police say the truck Josephson was driving jumped a curb and struck a wooden utility pole about 6:30 a.m. Friday near the intersection of North Country Club Road and East 3rd Street.

Josephson was alone in the vehicle.

He was taken to a Tucson hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Police say it's unclear why Josephson veered off the road and officers are continuing to investigate the cause of the fatal crash.
