Homicide suspect arrested by Arlington SWAT

A homicide suspect was arrested by Arlington police SWAT officers after he held police at bay for over eight hours.

The situation began Friday evening in the 600 block of Gemini Court. Police believe the man killed his girl friend. The circumstances of the homicide are not yet known.

Police evacuated nearby homes in the neighborhood that is just south of I-30 and east of Cooper Street just after 8pm. Police negotiators spend Friday night and early Saturday working to get the man to surrender. Just after 5am Saturday morning police reported the suspect was in custody.

Police have not yet released details of the homicide investigation or the identity of the victim.
