Dallas County sheriff's deputies are trying to find a man they connected to a fatal hit-and-run.
Andre Cherry was killed as he crossed the street at Stemmons Freeway and Inwood Road in Dallas a few weeks ago.
Deputies believe a man in red shorts and a white t-shirt was the driver who hit him. Surveillance cameras at a nearby gas station spotted him around the time of the accident.
Cherry's mother and sister believe it was an accident, but want the driver to step forward.
"I forgive him, but we need peace. We need peace in our heart," said Tasha Cherry, the victim's sister.
"I just ask God, whoever done it bring it, to bring it to justice," added Lorene Smith, his mother.
The car that left the scene was a silver Chevy Trailblazer that has damage to the front end.
