Peachtree City carjacking victim talks about ordeal

Posted: Updated:

The victim of a carjacking at a Peachtree City Wal-Mart is speaking out about the young teenagers she says terrorized her.

The carjacking, which took place Saturday, ended with a 16-year-old racing down south metro Atlanta highways at speeds of over 100 miles an hour.

The teen ultimately crashed on an I-285 exit ramp and is taken into custody.

The Coweta County woman he allegedly stole the car said she feared for her life after the teen allegedly pointed a gun at her.

"I thought I was going to die. I was going to lose my life, I would never see my child again. I was just scared to death," she said. "And I still am when I think about it."

In all, three 16-year-olds and a 14-year-old have been taken into custody. They are being charged as adults.

"To do something so stupid and dangerous – because they put many, not only my life, many other people lives in danger…with the high speed chase," she said.

The four teenagers are being held without bond.

Police say they would like to talk to a witness at a Peachtree City Kroger store located a few miles from the Wal-Mart. Authorities said the teens knocked on the woman's car window with the intent to carjack her. Authorities would like to speak to that woman.
