Police warn of burglars targeting Warrenville subdivision

WARRENVILLE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police in west suburban Warrenville are warning residents about a series of residential burglaries that have taken place within the past month.

The Warrenville Police Department is investigating eight separate residential burglaries, which have occurred since June, a release from the police department said.

These forced-entry burglaries were located within the Summer lakes subdivision, with most of the burglaries taking place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Police are encouraging residents to be diligent in securing their homes and vehicles. Residents are also reminded to be watchful of their surroundings, including in and around their neighborhood.

Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity is asked to immediately dial 911. People can leave tips anonymously, as well. Anyone who has information regarding these incidents can contact Warrenville Police Det. Sgt. Jacobson, at (630) 393-2131.
