BALA CYNWYD, Pa. -

Deborah Tobin always surrounded herself with pets.

"She was very much a dog lover," recalls her a neighbor.

And it's that love for one of her latest adopted four-legged friends that Lower Merion Police believe led to her deadly misstep.

After family members reported her missing, the 48 year old woman's body was found in a parking lot on the 100 block of Rock Hill Road late last night.

Investigators say it appears she fell from the cliffs above.

Police say the accident happened when the Bala Cynwd woman went into Eco Valley Nature park looking for her runaway brown lab mix.

"It's sad. It's a life. It's a life that's not here," says Karen Ebberts, a friend.

Tobin's brother tells us Deborah came back home to Bala Cynwd just last month after living in Florida for years.

After her dad died in May, she wanted to return to where she was raised to care for her mother.

"I just feel really bad for her mom. Really bad!" says Ebberts.  "She was very good daughter."

Karen Ebberts still heartbroken. The woman she's known for 25 years is gone. A woman with a huge heart and love for animals as well the mother she came back to care for.

"You could tell there was a lot of love there that she showed her parents," says Ebberts.

The brown lab mix was found near Wawa.

He'll be shipped backed to Florida to be cared for.
