Fast-moving storms rained out Fort Worth event

Posted: Updated:
FORT WORTH, Texas -

High winds and brief heavy rain knocked down trees and power lines across North Texas.

In Fort Worth, a Tubing on the Trinity event was canceled because of the weather.

About two dozen people had already showed up for the weekly summer tradition.

Organizers say the stormed popped up quickly, and packed a punch with hail and rain. Even though they had tarp to cover the equipment, the band couldn't get to it fast enough. Their amps, speakers and cords were drenched.

Eager concert-goers had a disappointing greeting as they arrived for the show.

"There's nobody here I guess the storm rained it out," James Conner said. "We didn't figure it would since it kinda seems like it blew through but, obviously not, seems like its over."

The strong winds blew down huge oak trees and scattered tree limbs all over Trinity Park.
