A Mesquite teenager is in critical condition after he was pulled from a swimming pool at the University of North Texas.
The 13-year-old was participating in a privately run football camp at the Denton university.
Officials with Sports International Football Camp say the incident on Thursday night was at an indoor pool on campus and occurred after the day's camp activities.
It's unclear what caused the teenager to nearly drown.
The Mesquite teen was taken by air ambulance from a Denton hospital to Medical City Dallas for further treatment.
The football camp has rented facilities at UNT for its summer programs for more than a decade.
