Leukemia patient hopes for bone marrow match

Posted: Updated:

Metroplex residents showed up in Lancaster on Saturday for a bone marrow drive through an organization called Be The Match.  This effort is to find a match for a young man who needs a transplant.  20 year old William Purdom is battling Leukemia and is being treated at Parkland Hospital.  Saturday's drive was held at Portal Comics in Lancaster.

"This is something no parent should ever go through," William's mother,  Amy DeLaisse, said.  "I think every parent should get on this registry because you never know if you're going to be the one to save William or somebody else like him."
