WEST, Texas -

Nearly three months after the deadly fertilizer plant explosion in West and the efforts to rebuild continue.  Governor Rick Perry attended a concert and Fundraiser in West on Saturday.

Traditional Czech food was served along with music and dancing was provided by Czechs from around the state.  About 400 people attended the benefit dinner, raising money to go towards the rebuilding efforts.  Governor Perry also vowed to stand by the town and keep the pressure on Washington.

"We'll continue to work with our friends at the federal government and FEMA and to express our desire to receive those federal dollars that this community deserves frankly and that the President said would be available so we're going to hold him to his word on that," Perry said.

The Governor says he has officially appealed FEMA's rejection of recovery funds for West.  The explosion on April 17th killed 15 people, most of them were first responders.  Damage estimates reach almost $35 million.
