99 Year Old Nordstrom Greeter Still Loves Job

Posted: Updated:

He's 99-years-old, and still happily employed!

His name is Ted Dinunzio, and he's the only greeter employed by Nordstrom.

"Good morning, young lady," he says as he greets his first customer of the day. "Welcome to Nordstrom."

Dinunzio turns 100 late this year, but that doesn't stop him from being up on his feet all day.

"When you get old, you gotta keep moving around. You can't just sit down and watch TV."

He retired from being a meat cutter in the 1980s to help his wife who was suffering from cancer.

After she passed away, Dinunzio realized he needed a way to stay connected.

So after Westfield Santa Anita mall opened in 1994, it didn't take long before Dinunzio was hired.

"This is my home right here," says Dinunzio. "They say, 'Can you help me?' I say, 'By all means, that's what I'm here for.'"

Dinunzio turns 100 this December 13th.

Dinunzio concludes. "Be nice to people, so they can come back."
