Casting call for Cameron Crow film held in St. Louis Park

Posted: Updated:

Producers of a new Cameron Crowe movie starring Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone are seeking a Minnesota boy to play a mainland kid who spent most of his life growing up on a military base.

When asked why she's looking in the Twin Cities, Debbie Delisi told FOX 9 NEws "This is my little gold mine."

"I did a big casting search, same position for the Sony movie 'Captain Phillips,'" she explained. "I found four of my leads in Minneapolis that came to an open call."

For this film, producers are looking for a Caucasian boy between 8 and 11 to play the role of Mitchell, a character who is obsessed with Hawaiian myths and folklore and keeps a video camera with him at all times.

The casting call was held on Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Benilde St. Margaret's school in St. Louis Park.

Crowe's other movies include "Almost Famous," Jerry Maguire" and "We Bought a Zoo."

Information from the Associated Press was used in this report.
