(WJBK) -

George "The Animal" Steele is signing his books at Barnes and Noble in Royal Oak on Thursday, July 18 (7 p.m.), in Grand Rapids on Friday, July 19 (7 p.m.) and in Troy on Saturday, July 20 (2 p.m.).

George is a former high school teacher and coach from Madison High in Madison Heights, but during that time he was also a professional wrestler.

He was in the business so long, he spanned the years from Leaping Larry Chene to Randy "Macho Man" Savage; from Haystacks Calhoun to Hulk Hogan.

His battles weren't all inside the ring, either. He suffers from dyslexia, but learned to overcome. He nearly died from Crohn's disease.
