Organizers say there will be a "Justice for Trayvon" rally in Dallas this Saturday, part of a nationwide outcry by some after a not guilty verdict in the trial of George Zimmerman.
There have been small rallies nearly daily in North Texas since last Saturday's verdict, but Saturday's rally in Dallas is one of 100 planned throughout the United States.
"We're gonna call on this nation to examine its laws that disproportionately and negatively impact the African American community, as well as brown and poor people," said Friendship Baptist Church pastor Fredrick Haynes, III.
The rallies will call for the Justice Department to bring federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman and for laws the group feels negatively impact minorities and the poor to be changed.
The rally is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday at Dallas City Hall plaza.
