16 year old enters Summer program at Harvard

Posted: Updated:
GARLAND, Texas -

A 16 year old year old South Garland High School student has fulfilled her dream of going to Harvard, thanks to the help of some North Texans.  Keyle Williams was accepted into a Summer program, but it cost $10 thousand to go.

Keyle has been through a lot in her 16 years… her mother died from cancer when she was only 10 years old and since then she says she and her brothers and sisters have moved around a lot.

The honors student puts all her energy into her school work with the hopes of becoming a forensic pathologist.  She's only one of a thousand students accepted into Harvard's Secondary Summer School Program.  The hurdle she face, however was the cost.

The school stepped in and looked for ways to raise money.  Thanks to the business community, teachers and even Fox 4 viewers, Keyle got the money she needed for the trip.  Right now, she's in the middle of the Harvard program.
