Health secretary in Dallas to promote health care plan

Posted: Updated:

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius promoted the Affordable Care Act in Dallas on Monday.

Sebelius spoke with healthcare and community leaders at the Old Red Courthouse in downtown Dallas about the process for Texans getting coverage through health insurance exchanges that open in October.

"This again is for people who are in the workforce often and don't have affordable health coverage with their employer," Sebelius said. "They will finally have a choice."

The federal government will run the insurance exchanges in Texas since state officials opted not to implement a state-run exchange.
