The Texas Rangers have acquired pitcher Matt Garza from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for Justin Grimm, Mike Olt, C.J. Edwards and another player to be named later.
A trade between the clubs was set to occur last week, but reportedly fizzled over medical concerns. The Rangers made the trade official just before Monday night's game against the New York Yankees.
Garza was scheduled to pitch Monday night for the Cubs against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He is 5-0 in his last six starts for Chicago.
Garza is eligible for free agency at the end of this season.
The deal was initially reported by FOX Sports and Yahoo Sports.
