Make Fajita Dogs on National Hot Dog Day

It's National Hot Dog Day! Scott Koller with Hofmann Hots shares a recipe for a fajita dog with chipotle ranch sauce.

Ingredients:
6 buns
6 Hofmann German Franks
1/4 lb sliced yellow onion
1/8 lb sliced green bell pepper
1/8 lb sliced red bell pepper
1/2 lb shredded pepper jack cheese
2 volume oz. each chipotle ranch (recipe to follow)
 
Chipotle Ranch:
1 cup prepared ranch dressing
1/8 cup canned chipotle peppers with adobo sauce (pureed in blender)
1/2 tsp fresh lemon juice
Combine ingredients and mix well
 
Preparation:
Cook Hofmann German Franks in hot grill or skillet until natural casing is crispy.  Keep warm.  Prepare a skillet over medium heat with 1 tbs olive oil; combine onions, red and green bell peppers.  Season pepper/onion mixture to taste.  Cook until wilted retaining some firmness.  Take 1 bun and place 2 oz of shredded pepper jack cheese on bottom of bun from end to end.  Place 1 Hofmann German Frank on in bun on top of cheese, ladle chipotle ranch on frank from end-to-end. Top with desired amount of fajita mixture. Serve hot. Enjoy!!
