Suspect sought in June 29 death of homeless veteran

Posted: Updated:

Dallas police are looking for a man they believe shot and killed a homeless veteran in Dallas.

Police released images from surveillance footage of the suspect at a Pleasant Grove convenience store on June 29, the night when veteran Craig Watson was killed.

The shooting began at a nearby car wash when someone robbed an illegal dice game.

Police said the person of interest came out of the store and fired at the robbers.

Watson, according to police, was caught in the crossfire.

"He was just an innocent bystander," said DPD Maj. Jeff Cotner.

People with tips can call Dallas police at 214-671-3605.
