One Man Killed In Police-Involved Shooting In Berks Co.

WERNERSVILLE, Pa. -

Police officers from Western Berks Police Department fire at and kill a man who was threatening officers with two guns.

The incident happened Saturday evening. According to police, the man was walking around North Church Street with two guns in his pants. After seeing the police, the man pointed his two guns at the officers. Police asked him multiple times to drop the guns, but he didn't comply and instead fled on foot.

After a chase that took them to the Norfolk Southern tracks, police fired at him after he again pointed his weapons at them a few times. After the suspect fell to the ground, police moved in and told him again to drop his weapons. He didn't comply, so police shot him, according to the police incident report. He was pronounced dead at the coroner's office.
