Tech Check: Jawbone fitness band

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Imagine a device that you can wear that will track your vital signs including how much you exercise, sleep and the movements you make.

This is what the Jawbone UP does. The Bit of wearable technology goes around your wrist.

The fitness band counts the steps you take and syncs with your smartphone. It reads out with the steps and miles walked as well as the calories you burned.

And if you have been inactive for too long, it will let you know by vibrating.

It also can tell you how long you have slept not to mention the quality of sleep you are getting each night.

The water-resistant bracelet comes in a variety of colors. It retails for about $129. For more information on the device go to jawbone.com/up.

Click on the video above to see FOX 5's Doug Evans and Deidra Dukes test it out
