Arlington officer shot by Saginaw suspect released from hospital

Posted: Updated:

The Arlington police officer shot while trying to serve a warrant in the case of a murdered Saginaw girl is now out of the hospital.

A photo of Det. Charles Lodatto was released by Arlington police on Twitter on Monday afternoon and shows the detective being welcomed home by members of the community holding banners thanking Lodatto.

Lodatto was attempting to serve a warrant last Tuesday morning to a suspect in the murder of Alanna Gallagher.

Lodatto was shot, police say, by 17-year-old Tyler Holder and was rushed to the hospital.

Holder now faces an attempted murder charge for the shooting of Lodatto in addition to the charge for the alleged murder of Gallagher.
