A hit-and-run victim's family is relieved police arrested the driver, but say they also feel guilty about what happened.
The family says Robert Locklin, 62, had a troubled past, which culminated in a long night of drinking.
Locklin's ex-wife, Betty Williams, said he showed up at her Seagoville home early Monday morning after a night at the bar. She says he got in a confrontation with their son, then insisted on driving himself home.
Trying to keep him from getting behind the wheel, the son removed his truck's battery.
They thought Locklin would sleep in his truck, but soon realized he was trying to walk home.
The son found Locklin off the service road, with no sign of the driver who hit him.
Police later learned Michael Shane Thomas, 29, hit him with his white Silverado. They say a relative overheard him say he'd hit something, and convinced him to go to police.
Police say Thomas says he was not drinking, but they have no way of knowing if that's true.
