Nearly 14-Pound Newborn Takes Title Of Germany's Heaviest Baby

Posted: Updated:

Germany has a new title-holder for the country's heaviest baby!

Jasleen was born on July 26 at University Hospital in Leipzig- and weighs around 14 pounds.

Her mom delivered her normally, without the help of a C-section according to a report from the New York Daily News.

The medical term for babies that weigh more than 8 pounds and 13 ounces is "fetal macrosomia."

Heavy babies are very often linked to maternal diabetes and obesity.

But, even Jasleen didn't make the Guinness Book of World Records!

The heaviest baby ever born was in 1879 at 23 pounds.
