A three-alarm fire damaged an apartment building in Irving.
It happened at the Parkridge Place Apartments near the President George Bush Turnpike and Macarthur Boulevard.
It took 40 firefighters more than an hour to put the fire out.
One person was taken to the hospital with a cut on the head.
A man who lived nearby banged on doors to alert residents.
"I came downstairs, ran outside and started banging on doors. It sounded like people were angry because they didn't understand why I was beating on their door. So I started just yelling, 'Fire!'" Leonid Semeneko said.
The cause is still under investigation.
