Posted: Updated:
DALLAS -

A Dallas police officer opened fire after getting into a struggle with an armed man.

Police were called to the 4600 block of Timberglen Drive in north Dallas around 1:30 a.m. because of a report of someone firing a gun in the area.

Officers found the gunman and tried to arrest him.

A struggle ensued and the suspect dropped his gun. When he reached for it, an officer pulled his weapon and fired, but apparently missed.

The man ran off, but police detained two men who looked like the suspect a short time later.

No officers were injured.

The incident is under investigation.
