Police: Robbery suspect posed as service tech

Posted: Updated:

The Rockwall Police Department is warning businesses about a potentially violent suspect who dressed up as a fire extinguisher service technician to rob unsuspecting employees.

The man apparently got into the back room of a business recently after saying he needed to work on the fire extinguisher. He then stole employees' wallets and purses, police said.

He was caught on surveillance video wearing an orange safety vest.

Police are concerned because they believe he is the same man that physically assaulted and robbed a person at gunpoint in May.

Anyone who spots the suspect is encouraged to call 911 immediately. He should not be confronted, police said.
