ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Nelson Cruz was in the Texas Rangers lineup despite a bruised left quad and uncertainty of whether he would be suspended by Major League Baseball in its drug investigation related to the Biogenesis case.
Rangers manager Ron Washington and general manager Jon Daniels both say Wednesday that they have heard nothing official about Cruz's status.
He wasn't in the clubhouse when it was open to reporters, and the team didn't take batting practice on the field before Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels.
Texas has a makeup game at home against Arizona on Thursday. MLB is expected to announce discipline for several players by the end of the weekend.
Cruz came out of Tuesday night's game after being hit by a ball while he ran out a fielder's choice grounder.
