Carjacking Victim Speaks Out About Her Daring Escape

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

"He said shut up or I'll shoot you."

This is the voice of a strong and brave woman.

This 31-year-old woman was getting into her car to head to work from her Olney home when a man with a gun jumped in her passenger seat. He quickly got angry when she didn't have cash.

She offered him credit cards, but he wanted something else. He told her she was still good for one thing, namely, sex.

Driving down Chew Street with a gun pointed at her, this woman knew she had a choice.

"I knew there was a police camera, so I said I should get out the car here," she remembers thinking.

She jumped out of her moving car, which ended hitting a Lukoil sign, and pounded on the door of a SEPTA bus. The driver let the woman on the bus, called police, and waited with her. The carjacker took off down Chew Street.

"I did not want to end up anywhere dead, decomposing in some woods." she says. She did what she had to do.

Police say the perpetrator was wearing a dark hooded sweat shirt and dark jeans. If you have any information about this crime call police. As for our quick-thinking victim, she's ok. She's a little rattled, but says she wouldn't have done anything differently.
