Police: Driver's license suspended 69 times

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police on Long Island arrested a young man whose driver license has been suspended and revoked dozens of times, authorities said.

A Suffolk County cop pulled over a 1990 Mercedes Benz Thursday afternoon in Brentwood. The driver, Jaquan Joas, 22, gave the officer a fake name and then tried to run away, police said. After a brief foot chase, police arrested Joas.

After checking his record, police found that Joas has 69 suspensions or revocations on his license.

Authorities charged him with aggravated unlicensed operation, resisting arrest, false personation, and criminal possession of marijuana degree.

Joas is set to be arraigned on August 3.
