Baby found dead at Arlington motel

Posted: Updated:

Arlington police are investigating the death of an infant at a motel in Arlington.

Police were called to the Rising Sun Inn early Friday morning on a report of an unresponsive child.

When first responders arrived, they found 13-month-old Landon Fernandez had been taken to the front office of the motel.

Fernandez was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

"Detectives are in the process right now of rebuilding that timeline of who had contact with the child, who had responsibility of the child over the last few hours of that child's life," said Arlington police spokeswoman Tiara Ellis Richard.

The boyfriend of the child's mother was reportedly looking after him at the time. He was detained by police, but has since been released.
