TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson man accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend in front of her teenage daughter has been sentenced to life in prison.

Pima County prosecutors say 39-year-old Armando Lopez was sentenced Monday.

He was charged with stabbing 44-year-old Marie Mesa with a steak knife after an argument last year.

Lopez was convicted in June.

The Arizona Daily Star (http://bit.ly/13BlLt9) says Lopez's attorney argued during the trial that his client believed Mesa was cheating on him and that sent him into a rage.
