Woman jailed after leading police on high speed chase

Posted: Updated:

A 23 year old woman is in custody after leading police on a high speed chase and crashing into two vehicles in Burleson.

Burlescon spokeswoman Sally Ellertson says officers watched a Mercury Marquis speeding on city streets Saturday afternoon. When the officers tried to get the car to stop, Ellertson says, it drove away at a high rate of speed. The driver ran two stop signs in a residential area, then ran two red lights. Ellertson says as the Mercury came through the second red light it collided with two other vehicles. Two people, including an infant, were taken to local hospitals. Ellertson says no one suffered life-threatening injuries.

Ellertson says 23 year old Anna Marie Garcia was arrested on a charge of evading arrest and four traffic warrants from the Fort Worth Police Department.
