The main water supply line in Grand Prairie is back up and running Wednesday after a water main break threatened the city's water supply.
A 60-inch supply line on the north side of Joe Pool Lake on Camp Wisdom Road near Carrier Parkway ruptured approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday, forcing the city to make emergency repairs and enact mandatory restrictions.
On Tuesday, officials thought they would run out of water. But repair efforts that went quicker than expected and conservation meant the city never ran out.
Officials said Wednesday morning the main water supply line has been repaired, disinfected and tested - so residents can return to normal water use. The city's reserve tanks are also being refilled.
