A family is searching for answers after a local mother was killed making at ATM deposit.
Dallas police are trying to find the gunman who ambushed Shona Walton last Friday morning at a Chase Bank ATM in the 4400 block of Lancaster Road.
Oscar Walton, her husband, said it was just before 2 a.m. when Shona realized she had to deposit a paycheck so she could pay bills. Shona took her 18-year-old son along with her for safety reasons.
Shona was making the deposit when a man with a gun snuck up on them. She hit the gas and the gunman started firing as she tried to drive away.
Shona made it more than a mile before crashing into a utility pole and later dying. A single bullet from the gunman struck her in the heart.
The entire family said it plans to put up flyers in the area around the bank and hope someone can identify the man.
