DALLAS -

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills and his wife Kelsey were greeted with cheers at the red carpet premiere of the documentary based on his life, "Travis: A Soldier's Story."

The film follows Mills' life before and after he lost all four limbs in an explosion in Afghanistan. He was wounded during his third tour in April 2012.

It premiered Thursday night at the Angelika Theater in Dallas. So many people wanted to see the movie, it had to be shown on two screens instead of just one.

"I'm so impressed someone cared about my story so much - I didn't think they would," Mills said.

The documentary uses realism to tell his story, with both Mills and his wife playing themselves during the film's flashbacks.

Reliving those moments are difficult for everyone, but Mills took it on with an irrepressible spirit.

"I've lived through it, I know what happened. I've been there before," Mills said. "I knew it was just for the movie and really capturing something special."
