Researchers recently snapped an unbelievable photo of a small shark grabbing bait and being swallowed by a larger shark at the same time.

The scientists from the Ocean Exploration, Remote Sensing, Biogeography Lab, or ORB Lab, at the University of Delaware posted the photo on Facebook in late July. They had been out tagging sharks.

"We caught one large female on our first line Friday, but we were not expecting to catch her like this! This unlucky smooth dogfish couldn't resist the menhaden used as bait and unfortunately fell victim to one of the top predators in the bay. The dogfish was about 3 feet long and completely swallowed by the sand tiger shark," they said in the post.

After skeptical fans were assured the photo was real, one commenter referred to the catch as a turducken, which is a chicken stuffed in a duck stuffed in a turkey for holiday meals.

The researchers said the sand tiger shark was released after being tagged.
