Local charity looking for stolen van

Posted: Updated:

A local non-profit, which is dedicated to helping the needy, now needs help finding the thieves who stole one of their two vans.  The crime was caught on camera, Thursday morning.  The video shows three thieves pull into a lower level parking lot in the middle of the night and raised the hood of their car to make it seem like they were having car trouble.

The thieves took one of the two vans owned by Favored with Hope, loaded with food and supplies and stranding the non-profit and the work the group does.

Favored with Hope serves more than 30 low income apartment communities in Texas;  in Austin, Houston and DFW Metroplex.  The transportation they provide is a big part of the program, taking people to the doctor, job interviews and after-school program.  The van with the extra seats in the back is the one that was stolen.  The van should be easy to spot, it has "Favored with Hope" painted all over it.  The thieves also broke the driver's side window to get into the van, then did more damage by backing into a pole on the way out.

If you have any information about the stolen van, please call Dallas Police.
